Caring Canines

 

When Stan Peters recalls the difficult loss of his “beautiful” wife Cindy, he can’t help but remember the special relationship they developed with Hospice of the Calumet Area’s Caring Canine dog, Zach. The golden retriever used to visit his wife during her final weeks, and Stan says Zach was “an absolute angel.” During Cindy’s funeral service, Zach made a comforting appearance, sitting alongside Stan and providing unexpected emotional support. 

 

Our Caring Canine volunteers are trained, registered, and insured to work in nursing homes, private homes, and at our William J. Riley Memorial Residence.
