Providing the “Gold Standard” in Comfort Care

Hospice House

Hospice of the Calumet Area, Inc.

Not everyone has a place to call home in the final period of life. They may not have family or friends who can help them maintain the independence they would like. They may be alone.

The William J. Riley Memorial Residence is open to persons who desire Hospice services, but are unable to remain at home safely.

Our eight-bedroom home provides the assistance and care needed for persons with life-limiting illnesses who want to live out their remaining time in a home-like environment, not in a nursing facility or in a hospital.

The Hospice family of nurses, social workers, home health aides, pastoral counselors and volunteers provide services in this home to make the final period of life comfortable, dignified and peaceful.

Hospice of the Calumet Area, Inc. offers a home when no one else can. Services are provided regardless of ability to pay and the cost of care is significantly less than a hospital stay. Hospice services are funded by Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance. Since room and board is usually not a covered hospice service, charges will be based on the patient’s ability to pay. Contributions allow Hospice of the Calumet Area to provide services to those who are unable to pay.
