Dr. David Casarett visits Munster during book tour

What would you do if you only had a few days to live?  A few hours?  A few minutes? How can you make the best possible use of whatever time you have left?

In his book, Last Acts, Dr. David Casarett explores these and many other questions as he considers how we use our time when that time is limited.  Dr. Casarett, who is an acclaimed physician, researcher, and tenured Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, will speak at a public forum on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 2-4 p.m. at The Center for Visual & Perfoming Arts, 1040 Ridge Rd., Munster.

The forum is sponsored by Hospice of the Calumet Area, Caring Connections and the National Hospice Foundation.   During the forum, Dr. Casarett will share the compelling stories of the many patients he’s cared for in 10 years as a hospice and palliative care physician and discuss ways that people can better understand their end-of-life choices and decisions.

Dr. Casarett’s new book “Last Acts” (Simon & Schuster, 2010) will be available for $20 and will benefit Hospice of the Calumet Area. Dr. Casarett will also be available afterwards to sign his book.
